So I was able to start into the frame. I reinforced the sectioned portion, smoothed out the backbone and made some repairs to the sheet metal here and there. The main structure of the frame has been coated in rust converter to stop the progression of any rust I couldn't get to with a wheel. Two of the front beam bungs were really messed up. One had the stud still stuck inside and the other was just completely stripped. The easiest way to deal with this was to drill it through and replace the bolts with grade 8.8 half inch bolts. I also built a 1 3/4" body lift that will also act as the mounting points for all of the other supports for the various systems.
Systems = Things like the gas tank, hood hinge supports, dash support, rear seat support, and roll cage.
I was really surprised to find that this frame was so accurately sectioned. The variation in symmetry was about 1/16" or less.
The body was moved into the shed for modifications and mockup of the other support structures.
Cameron was able to help here and there, but with his ear infections and other illnesses he's been dealing with, he's needed some supplementary energy.
